I just voted. The Govenator is probably not going to be very happy. I don’t think I’ve voted in an off-year election since I was 18. I guess when you finally get mad enough, you finally do anything you can to change it.

Sunn O))), Boris and the Thrones rocked Slim’s on Halloween eve. If someone knows the set-list please post it here. Since I was standing in front of Wata, I thought the sound mix was a little strong and I couldn’t hear Takeshi very well. Wata’s guitar skills are amazing live. Its hard to really appreciate in studio recordings.
Sunn did an hour + rendition of ‘the Black One’. Very loud, too much fog machine to take any photos as you can see from the first pic. I believe Takeshi joined Sunn on stage, but it was hard to make out what was going on.

Over the past few years I’ve been searching for Mike Leigh’s “Naked” on DVD. I did finally find an import at Amoeba Records in SF, but it was out of stock. So to my great surprise when I found the newly released Criterion Collection of Naked over the weekend.
Its got a new high-definition digital 1.85:1, Dolby Digital transfer with director and actor commentary from the Laser Disc. Thankfully we get Katrin Cartlidge’s voice over before her untimely death a few years back. David Thewlis as Johnny is truly one of the greatest anti-hero movies ever made. I highly recommend it.

The Beta’s (RIP) have released a ‘Best of’ and the second disc features the entire(I think) live set from second Shepherds Bush Empire show in London (11/29/04)…This was my last Beta show of four I was able to catch. Dr. Baker live is quite a nice change up and I think you can hear me singing during ‘Dry the Rain’.
The album artwork is a combination of the three LP’s and the three EP’s artwork..
