I’ve always resisted going to see Pink Floyd or any of the Waters or Gilmour solo performances. Even when PF toured in the late 80’s, I thought they were way past their prime. I was always willing to pay nearly any amount of money to see the band circa ‘74 at the Fillmore, but the idea of sitting in an outdoor stadium seemed ridiculous. Might as well sit at home and watch Live at Pompeii.
Well, today I broke down and bought Roger Waters tickets for MSG. Unless there is a true PF reunion, I thought I’d see Waters one time before I die. (or he dies) It sounds like an interesting show.
“The tour promises a complete run-through of the 1973 Pink Floyd classic, Dark Side Of The Moon, as the second half of the show. The first half is a mix of Floyd classics and Roger’s solo material. Elaborate staging is promised, designed by Mark Fisher, complete with projections, and a full, 360 degree quadrophonic sound system.”
Somehow I scored floor seats to the second night(now sold-out), should be fun:

Daniel Smith, brother, sister, wife and the rest of the ‘Famile’ put on a great show last night in Brooklyn. With a full band Danielson played mostly material from the great new record ‘Ships’. Check out the latest uniforms.

Saw Mogwai again last night..great as always. First time at Webster Hall, kinda a mini-Fillmore. Sound was excellent and the lights were nice if not a little over the top at times.
Set-list to come.
