I upgraded my version of wordpress to 2.3 and then exported my .xml code to wordpress.com.  Everything went pretty smoothly and now I just need to fix some links to images, etc.  More updates to come with actual blog entries.

It seems like every time I’m reminded of this quote I start to believe it more and more.

I’m officially old on the inside, although I refuse to be old on the outside..werd to that. Today I move into a whole new marketing demographic. I’m no longer the most sought after target market for advertisers. Seems kinda strange. I have more disposable income at my current age than when I was 18. I suspect corporations try to build a lifetime of brand commitment at an early age and they don’t have to worry about you so much later.

Jucifer finally came on at 1 a.m. at Sin-e in NYC. Three words. OMG! Fantastic sounds from the bottom of the frequency spectrum. If you don’t know anything about this band, its a two piece and the guitarist has a wall of amp cabinets about ten feet high and the entire stage wide. The club was tiny, so the sound was incredibly loud. Putting in ear plugs only made the sound seem to rumble at ever lower frequencies. Think the show ended around 2am on a Wednesday night. Luckily I’m on vacation. wooho! I can’t imagine how long it takes to setup and break-down the stage. If they’re coming to your town and you love heavy music, don’t miss it.

I just got a auto update from FireFox and when I restarted the browser and checked ‘About’ I saw:

I guess the final version has been released, but the mozilla.org site doesn’t list it. Interesting.

Updated my blog management tool phpWebTrace to version 1.0.1. Worth a look if you’ve got a blog.

The less fortunate and tourists in New Orleans and surrounding cities are being jammed into the SuperDome. I don’t know about you, but what will happen to the SuperDome under 25 feet of water and 155+ MPH winds? I can’t imagine a good outcome.
It should have been possible to organize an evacuation for all. Use the city buses, school buses, trucks, anything leaving town. The city could have organized a carpool system. Did they not anticipate this day coming? Are we going to condemn people to possible death if they do not own a car?
Off to bed, I hope those poor(literally) folks make it.

Well if you don’t know what the Rio Karma was..shame on you. It was truly the greatest DAP(mp3/ogg/flac) player ever made. The size,shape,controls(Rio stick), docking station just couldn’t be beat. Unfortunately, this player had reliability issues and was two years old. Rio Audio also never did any marketing for their product line. I would fly around on the plane and people were always asking me about my player. No one had ever see or heard of it before.
An update called the Chroma had been rumored since mid-2004. And now the news today that D&M holdings has killed off Rio Audio. Many people had been holding out a long time for a player that will never see the light of day.

If you are considering an iPod may I suggest you read the forums at DAP Review first. The iPod is one of the most feature lacking players out there, but Apples marketing is strong and the ‘hipster’ appeal is strong. I guess Briney Spears sells a lot of albums too, so there is no accounting for taste is there?
